Ravens vs BROWNS Rivalry

Baltimore Ravens Divisional Rivalry : Bitter Rivalries In AFC North

The Baltimore Ravens are a team in the very contested AFC North division. They maintain one of the fiercest rivalries in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Their rivalry is focused on the close proximity of the teams as the drive only takes about five hours from one city to another. Both teams are also known for their physical style of play. All of this means their rivalry is considered one of the most significant in the league. Their other, less intense rivalries in their division, are with the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Bengals. lets check out Baltimore Ravens Divisional Rivalry.

Baltimore Ravens vs AFC North Rivalry Analysis

They play twice each season, one time at home and one time away for both teams, and have thus far met four times in the playoffs. The teams have first met on the 8th of September, 1996, with Pittsburgh winning 31-17. The Steelers have been more successful overall, as well, as they have won 25 out of their 46 meetings. Ravens have won 21, but have recently been the better team and have won 10 out of the 16 matches in the 2010s era. In the playoffs the Steelers have also been more successful, leading the Ravens 3-1 in victories. Both teams have won the Superbowl twice, Baltimore in 2000 and 2012, and Pittsburgh in 2005 and 2008. In their last match between the two side, in December of 2016, the Steelers won once again with a close result of 31-27.

Browns vs Ravens Rivalry

While their rivalry with the Steelers is undoubtedly the biggest, they also have intense matches with the Browns and the Bengals. Browns’ fans maintain a hatred of Baltimore due to their move from Cleveland. Their rivalry has been rather one-sided though, as the Ravens are leading 27-9. Much like with the Steelers they meet twice per season, but they have never met in the playoffs. Their first meeting was in 1999 and Ravens prevailed 17-10, while their last match took place in October of 2017 and the Ravens once again enjoyed a decisive victory, beating the Browns 28-7.

Bengals vs Ravens Rivalry

Against the Bengals, they have met 42 times and the rivalry has been extremely interesting as both sides currently have 21 wins to its name. Their earliest meeting in 1996 was won by the Bengals as they beat the Ravens in a close-fought match 24-21. The last game was on New Year’s day of 2018 and the Bengals once again won, slightly more comfortably, this time, beating them 27-10. Out of their 42 matches, none have been contested in the playoffs.
